The different parts of the Plazaola Green Route offer fascinating scenery, an encounter with the natural environment, unusual places to discover, culture, tradition, history and splendour.

The different places along the route followed by the old Plazaola railway offer a wide variety of leisure activities which provide the chance to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Charming places, routes to suit all tastes and places of interest where surprise and adventure are the order of the day: mountain springs, thousand-year-old oak groves and medieval monasteries, to name but a few.

There are routes of varying levels of difficulty which can be undertaken on foot, by bike or on horseback. All the routes are signposted and run through a wide range of countryside and villages. The routes are divided into three categories which are marked in different colours:

1.- Local Footpath (S.L) : Short routes leading to places of particular interest.

2.- Short Routes (P.R) : Easy walks of between 8 and 20 kilometres.

3.- Long routes (G.R) : Long routes linking different regions.
