Five miles along the River Leitzaran and after passing through two tunnels, we’ll reach the border with the province of Gipuzkoa. A little further on are the Plazaola or Bizkotx mines, which gave the name to a train carrying ore to Andoain. Currently, they are in ruins and cannot be visited.

Leitza Station > Uitzi Tunnel
A fun route over which the train had to travel through some very rough terrain. There were 11 tunnels to be passed through, the longest being the Leitza Tunnel (649 m). It’s in perfect shape. This section ends where the Uitzi Tunnel begins (2.7 km)

Uitzi Station
There are three tunnels to be passed through when heading from Lekunberri Station to Uitzi.  After the first one, there is a sloped stretch of 160 m. It passes under the motorway and then rejoins its original path.  The second tunnel (Bartolo) has lighting but the third has none, although it's very short. This section ends shortly before reaching Uitzi Station. There is a "game" available for the little ones; just ask for it in Lekunberri’s tourist office.
