| Plazaola is an excellent area to visit and to travel through and even better to live in. The Plazaola Tourism Consortium was set up for this reason. Since 1994, village and district councils and associations of hoteliers, owners of country house hotels, craftsmen and other groups have been meeting to collaborate in the development of tourism, balancing the interests of the local people, business people and visitors.
This Consortium was set up to facilitate the progress of the valleys whilst at the same time protect the natural and cultural values which have been handed down by our ancestors. The objective is to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and satisfy the needs of visitors.
In addition, the role of the Consortium is to support initiatives put forward by both the public and private sectors by: stimulating the socio-economic development of the rural areas; planning and coordinating the natural and cultural resources; and providing all those involved with a place to meet and communicate. |
